Autoproclamada mãe de seus dançarinos, a cantora aproveitou as filmagens para marcar posição em questões ligadas aos direitos dos homossexuais, liberdade de expressão e desmistificação da AIDS. Este documentário revela a surpreendente e emocionante história desses extravagantes dançarinos, que logo se tornaram ícones da liberdade sexual, inspirando jovens do mundo todo.
In 1990, seven young dancers – six gay and one straight – joined pop star Madonna in her Blond Ambition tour, the most daring and controversial to date and that gave rise to the film Truth or Dare. Self-proclaimed mother of her dancers, the singer took advantage of the footage to make a stand on issues concerning gay rights, freedom of expression, and demystification of AIDS. This documentary reveals the surprising and exciting story of these exuberant dancers, who soon became sexual freedom icons, inspiring young people around the world.

Foi há 18 anos que Saar, um jovem judeu criado numa família religiosa, teve que deixar sua comunidade israelita por conta de sua orientação homossexual. Mudou-se para Londres, onde pôde finalmente viver a vida que queria. Quando descobriu-se que ele era HIV positivo, sua família teve que enfrentar mais um desafio. Mas o protagonista não deixou de lutar por aceitação e manutenção de vínculos com sua família. Quando confrontado por sua mãe, pai e irmãos, ele tenta identificar e revisar o problema que os divide, a fim de se tornar parte da comunidade novamente, sem deixar de ser ele mesmo.
It was 18 years ago when Saar, a young Jew raised in a religious family, had to leave the kibbutz because of his homosexual orientation. He moved to London where he could finally live the life he wanted. When it turned out that he was HIV positive, his family had to face yet another challenge. But the protagonist did not cease to fight for acceptance and maintaining bonds with his family. When confronted with his mother, father and siblings, he tries to name and re-work the problem dividing them in order to become a part of the community again while continuing to be himself.

Damien e Thomas estudam na mesma escola e tinham tudo para serem amigos. No entanto, não suportam um ao outro e vivem se xingando – quando não brigam de fato. A mãe de Damien é médica e seu pai, piloto militar. Thomas é filho de uma família de camponeses que vive em uma região remota. Depois de sofrer uma série de abortos, a mãe de Thomas está grávida novamente. A fim de facilitar a difícil gravidez, a mãe de Damien convida Thomas a morar em sua casa até que o bebê nasça. Agora, Damien e Thomas vão ter que morar debaixo do mesmo teto.
Damien and Thomas attend the same school and could easily have been friends. Yet they cannot stand each other and insults are frequent, that is, when they aren’t taking swings at each other. Damien’s mother is a doctor and his father is a military pilot. Thomas is the a child of a farming family living on a remote area. After several miscarriages, Thomas’s mother is pregnant again. To make a difficult pregnancy easier, Damien’s mother invites Thomas to live with them until the baby is born. Now Damien and Thomas will have to live under the same roof.

Como líder do único partido político LGBT do mundo, Bemz Benedito sonha em ser a primeira mulher transgênera no Congresso filipino. Mas, numa nação predominantemente católica, mobilizar-se por representação LGBT não é uma tarefa fácil. Bemz e seu eclético time de guerreiros políticos gays têm que repensar as tradicionais estratégias de campanha para acumular apoio dos lugares mais improváveis. Levando sua campanha por igualdade a salões de cabeleireiros de pequenas cidades e a concursos de beleza regionais, os ativistas mobilizam cabeleireiras trans da classe trabalhadora e rainhas de concursos de beleza para juntarem-se a eles na luta contra seu principal oponente político, um pastor evangélico homofóbico, e provar ao eleitorado filipino que é hora de levar os direitos da população LGBT a sério. Mas como outsiders tentando entrar no sistema, será que eles terão que comprometer seus ideais políticos para vencer? As leader of the world’s only LGBT political party, Bemz Benedito dreams of being the first transgender woman in the Philippine Congress. But in a predominantly Catholic nation, rallying for LGBT representation in the halls of Congress is not an easy feat. Bemz and her eclectic team of queer political warriors must rethink traditional campaign strategies to amass support from unlikely places. Taking their equality campaign to small-town hair salons and regional beauty pageants, the activists mobilize working-class trans hairdressers and beauty queens to join the fight against their main political opponent, a homophobic evangelical preacher, and prove to the Filipino electorate that it’s time to take the rights of LGBT people seriously. But as outsiders trying to get inside the system, will they have to compromise their political ideals in order to win? Culminating on election day, OUT RUN provides a unique look into the challenges LGBT people face as they transition into the mainstream and fight for dignity, legitimacy, and acceptance across the globe.

Fernando, um ornitólogo solitário, está à procura de cegonhas negras ao longo de um remoto rio nos confins de Portugal quando é arrastado pelas corredeiras. Resgatado por um casal de peregrinas chinesas a caminho de Santiago de Compostela, ele mergulha em uma floresta escura, misteriosa, tentando voltar às origens (e às cegonhas). Mas diante de obstáculos inesperados e estranhos e pessoas que o colocam à prova, o protagonista logo é levado por ações extremas, transformadoras. Aos poucos, ele se torna um homem diferente: inspirado, multifacetado e finalmente esclarecido.
Fernando, a solitary ornithologist, is looking for endangered black storks along a remote river in northern Portugal, when he is swept away by the rapids. Rescued by a couple of Chinese pilgrim girls on their way to Santiago de Compostela, he plunges into a dark, eerie forest, trying to get back on track. But as he encounters unexpected and uncanny obstacles and people who put him to the test, Fernando is driven to extreme, transformative actions. Gradually he becomes a different man: inspired, multifaceted, and finally enlightened.

Oscar’s childhood was defined by two distinct episodes: his parents’ separation and the witnessing of a traumatic hate crime, which led him to suppress his then-emerging sexuality. Today, the lone teenager is haunted by bloody fantasies and his only comfort is to watch the unique wisdom of Buffy, his pet hamster. When the line between fantasy and reality becomes blurred, the friendship with a beautiful – and tattooed – coworker gives Oscar confidence to recover his identity.

In southern France, during a wolf scouting tour, filmmaker Leo is seduced by Marie, a free-spirited and dynamic shepherdess. Nine months later, she gives birth to a boy. Suffering from postpartum depression and no longer having faith in Leo – who comes and goes without notice – Marie abandons him together with their son. Leo is now alone with a baby to care for. Through a series of unexpected encounters, he struggles to find inspiration for his next film.

In the film, Patrick returns to the city for the first time in almost a year to celebrate a momentous event with his old friends. In the process, he must face the unresolved relationships he left behind and make difficult choices about what’s important to him.
