| Vários jovens de Nova York encontram-se num salão infame e underground chamado Shortbus, onde se deparam com situações cômicas e trágicas envolvendo amor, música, política e sexo. Sofia é a terapeuta sexual que nunca teve um orgasmo e por isto fingiu durante anos para seu marido, Rob. Ela conhece Severin, uma dominatrix que tenta ajudá-la. Entre os clientes de Sofia está o casal gay James e Jamie, que começa uma relação aberta com Ceth. O filme sugere uma forma de diminuir a pressão pós-ataques terroristas de 2001 e assim reconciliar melhor as pessoas. A trilha sonora leva a assinatura do roqueiro ascendente Michael Hill e do consagrado grupo de indie rock de vanguarda Yo La Tengo, de Nova Jersey. |

| Several young people in New York meet in a infamous and underground saloon called Shortbus, where they face funny and tragic situations involving love, music, politics and sex. Sofia is the sexual therapist who never had an orgasm and pretended it to her husband for years. She meets Severin, a dominatrix who tries to help her. Among Sofia’s clients is the gay couple James and Jamie, who starts an open relationship with Ceth. The film suggests a way to decrease the pressure after the terrorist atacks in 2001 and then reconciliate people in a better way. The soundtrack is signed by the ascending rocker Michael Hill and the famous frefront indie rock group Yo La Tengo, from New Jersey. |
