MARIA ABDALLA. Cultural and audiovisual producer and director at ICUMAN (Culture and Environment Institute) set in Goiânia, Goias state.
With experience in curating, jury and film production and cinematic events since the 1990s, she is the founder, general director and main curator of Goiânia Mostra Curtas. (Goiânia Short Films Exhibition). At Icuman, she’s also the founder and the general coordinator of Cinema Popular ( an itinerant screenings of national movies project in the countryside of Goiás, Tocantins and Mato Grosso states), of Professional Film Training Course and she was also in charge of the four Icuman Lab (lab for promotion of audiovisual production in Midwest Brazil). She worked as a coordinator from the 4th to the 11th Film and Human Rights Exhibition (from 2009 to 2017), in Goiás, for theSecretariat for Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic.In 2017, she has run the 4th Icuman Lab. Now, she coordinates the 12th Professional Training Course – Audiovisual Script Development , Steps 1 and 2. She’s a surrogate adviser at GOFilmes (Film and TV Producers Association) and founding partner at CONNE (Midwest, North and Northeast Audiovisual Connection).
